T-1 brought up something on the 2010 plans. A "unoffical" gathering of Paangler members.
Just wondering how many other members would like to do this? I know schedules change, and other commitments, but who says it has to be just 1 gathering?
I was thinking of maybe talking to campground owner as that would be a good meeting site, and with the swatara right there, stony creek, indiantown run, manada creek, stoevers lake, memorial lake, marquette lake all close by could possible one site or maybe a neutral area where we all could explore the local waters of that area.

Well you already know my opinion. Heck, even if it's not a get-together I've got to make a point to pack up some FCS and get out and see some of the water you & Swattie are always talking about.

You can count me in.

One idea, I know a guy who rents kayaks out on the Susky in the Wylalusing area (Northern Pa). He has a couple of cabins along with ground to tent camp on. Great walleye and Smally fishing. Prices are pretty reasonable. My father and I have done this "float" on the Susky many times with great success. There are also quite a bit of trout streams nearby, although I never fished the streams.

Looks like we got a good cross section of members that would like to do this. Know I guess the next 2 steps are:
1) get troy to come
2) decide who all would like to "host" a gathering.
I am definetly going to talk to the campground owner about parking, and such. I can have guests at my campsite,we could if wanted bring food for a dinner, also there are canoe/kayak rentals for a float trip down swatara for a float fish trip(smallfee for rental, and portage to starting area.) also depends on water levels, there are 2,and 4 hour trips. I would recommend the 2 hour float/fish trip.
Any other ideas??????

I am there! Heck, I might even tow the family along (trust me, you do not want that!)

Seriously, I am in. I would love to host at my house but the fun would stop after the greeting, no place to fish .

Let's keep the thread going and see what we can make of this.

Thanks,

Troy

I always have an open invitation to who ever on the board wants to go fishing. Usually start fishing in ernest right at opening of trout, which coincides with the start of camping season.
Would like a good gathering,I am in semi planning stages, cause it all depends on who wants to do what,as in either wading, float trip down creek(still has stone laid walls from canal days) to exploring new water for all of us,trout, bass, panfish etc.... Any and all ideas would be appreciated. Personally a lazy day float/fish trip from I81 to campground would be nice, plus that section has the downhill turny rapids

Hey guys, I was woundering if we have an option to purchase bumper stickers or decals of this site, possibly with our screen name on it. I would like to put one on my truck, and on my Kayak. It would be help identify fellow memebrs while fishing. Maybe a shirt or patch for the vest?

I know Troy use to have a pa. anglers.com sticker he use to give away to promote the site. I still have mine from the very 1st version of this site. Then there were T-shirts offered several years back... never got one of those.

I'd be interested in a hat with the logo, if we can work some thing out. My wife thinks I've got a hat fetish with all the different fishing hats I've accumulated.

There are websites like Zazzle.com & Cafepress.com that specialize in one-off printing with no upfront fees.

http://www.zazzle.com/create
http://www.cafepress.com/make/personalized-gifts

I've used Cafepress before because I wanted to make a t-shirt. They also gave me the option to create a "store" at no cost.
(I keep about 10% if any of my designs sell).
http://www.cafepress.com/troutrageous/6176749

All Troy would need to do (or heck, anybody else could do it if they were given the logo in a hi res format) would be to upload it to the site and pick what product they wanted it on. I will say in dealing with these guys in the past, the quality is only ok...shirts hold up (although the cut is a little on the slim side, so size up), but bumper stickers tend to fade after about a year or two.

Obviously not THE solution, just an option.

We have a graphic business, that we as the fire dept. uses alot for our decals, and such,so his stuff would not fade for a little while(been on one unit 10yrs. but is kept inside, staying bright on chiefs cars and they are stored outside.
Troy would be the one to release or design a sticker, after all he is responsible for bringing us all together.
Any ideas on what kinda gatherings in mind...all day with picnic, and fishing time, fishing, and snacking somewhere, all day fishing no food(LOL).
I kinda need to know who wants to do what so can get an idea of what to plan for Swatty and mine areas, you know, floating, wading, banks, split in groups, first fish contest, biggest fish, etc, that would be from a pool of money we drop in a kitty.
I kinda wanna do like a gathering, and then discuss actions, like showing different areas, and telling of other areas, splitting into groups to do different things. Floating ,i would need to know in advance,as to get rentals from owner or hit up friend to borrow his, plus need to set up portage, the owner has a trailer, and he will take us up to where we want to put in,and help carry all items. Come on guys need ideas,so Bubba can get to work

I'll do anything, but would prefer wading. I'm not much of a kayaker (have only done it once), unless of course somebody had a canoe and would be looking for a second to fill the boat. I'd also be the one to fall in the drink. Truthfully, I'm open to anything, it would be new water to me regardless.

I personally think we should make it the least complicated as possible, in case for whatever the reason folks don't show, back out, etc... You know, stuff just happens.

Morning/Afternoon of fishing followed by a meal. If we had the facilities, could be a BBQ of some sort, or to make it easier (or the weather wasn't cooperating), just find a diner or such to grab a bite and trade fish tales. A contest might be fun...everybody toss in $5 or so for the biggest fish. Doesn't have to be a Boy Scout Jamboree or anything, just a day to put faces to names.

Thinking june 12,for a wading trip on swatara, guide to areas, depending on numbers, and split up to fish so do not overcrowd.
Very early may for a trout gathering, very early am heavy pressure area by campground.
